Metallic Bonding

Metallic bonding is the force of attraction between valence electrons and the metal ions. It is the sharing of many detached electrons between many positive ions, where the electrons act as a "glue" giving the substance a definite structure.

Inter-molecular forces
Intermolecular forces (IMFs) are the forces which mediate interaction between molecules. They also include forces of attraction or repulsion which act between molecules and other types of neighboring particles (e.g., atoms or ions).

The intermolecular forces form the attractions between the metal ions and the free electrons.
