The Atom

 -  Atoms contain three sub-atomic particles; Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons.

 -  Neutrons and Protons make up the nucleus of the atom, while Electrons are on the outer orbital shells of the atom.

Masses of the Sub-Atomic Particles...

  - Mass of a proton = 1 amu

 - Mass of a neutron = 1 amu

 - Mass of an electron=0 or 1/1000 amu

( amu stands for Atomic Mass Unit)

Charges of Sub-Atomic Particles...

 - Charge of a proton = positive

 - Charge of a neutron = neutral

 - Charge of an electron = negative
