is the third element of the periodic table.  It has a silvery colour, it's in group 1 and is very reactive.

Melting Point:  180.54 degrees C

 -  Lithium is an alkali metal, it is paramagnetic, which is slightly magnetic, but it can't retain the magnetic effect once it is removed from the magnetic field.

 - It is similar to all other group 1 elements - having only 1 valence electron. 

 - Lithium reacts best with halogens from group 7.
